Red Maple Letterpress Card
Red Maple trees
Found in forest edges, forests, meadows and fields, shores of rivers or lakes, swamps, wetland margins (edges of wetlands), and woodlands, Acer rubrum is best adapted to wet sites where its associated with: Black Ash, Cottonwood, and Black Gum. Due to is ability to grow in a variety of soils it makes for a great landscape plant. As an early-successional forest tree it provides browse for moose and many other mammals. Acer rubrum have one of the widest latitudinal ranges of any North American Tree.
All my designs are first drawn by hand, then either printed in house or sent off to the letterpress printer. Letterpress gives the trees texture and showcases the hand-drawn pen strokes.
